“For those that struggled with putting this together, and those who may in the future, there is a set screw on the protrusion that the long metal rod fits in. Loosen that set screw with a regular screw driver, place the long rod into the opening then tighten the set screw. The smaller rod which fits into the middle whole is a press fit. Place the small rod into the center slot. Place a board, piece of wood, something solid, over the top of the small rod. Then use a hammer to hit the wood over the small rod. This will push the rod firmly to the bottom of the plate. Voila! You are done. The hole opposite the long rod provides an opportunity to screw the metal base into a block of wood if you need more height or stability.”
