“I have purchased many quality sewing and quilting related products from Sewing Machines Plus and have always been delighted with my purchases as well as their customer service. Because of our excellent relationship I stand by SMP and their staff and will continue to do so.
In this particular instance, however, I purchased of a Baby Lock Jazz II sewing machine on 2/15/25. Due to some personal matters it took a couple of weeks to open the box and test drive the new machine. I am quite disappointed in the Baby Lock Jazz II machine I received. Out of the box there are several issues, any one of which makes the machine unusable. There is no damage to the shipping box so I doubt the issues are related to damage in transit. I contacted Customer Service on 3/17/25 and provided pictures as required as well as a video of one particularly unusual issue. Customer Service is forwarding the matter to the Service & Repair Supervisor and I am currently waiting to hear back regarding returning the machine for a replacement or refund. I certainly do not believe this is a problem with Sewing Machines Plus as a licensed retailer. Having been a quilter and seamstress for 49 years as well as rescuing, rebuilding and giving new life to antique and vintage mechanical machines for over 20 years, I simply believe the issue with the machine I received is a manufacturing/QA issue... one of the lemons that slip through the cracks from time to time. All things considered, I'd say I've had very good fortune indeed, to have sewn, quilted and repaired machines for nearly 50 yrs to only have an issue with 1 machine in total.
To anyone who is reading this review, I highly recommend Sewing Machines Plus for their knowledge, inventory, customer service and follow on care. I have bought from different retailers over the years but SMP is the only retailer I've gone back to repeatedly, and will continue to do so. Thank you!”
