About Direct To Garment Printers
Direct to Garment Printing, or DTG printing, refers to the method of using an inkjet printer to print directly on garments, primarily t-shirts. Though the technology has been around for many years, recent advancements have produced direct to garment printers that are reliable and user-friendly. The primary advantage of direct to garment printing is the ability to produce one-offs and small production runs without the setup costs associated with other methods, such as screen printing.
Ideal for Many Business Applications:
- Complement to screen printing, dye sublimation
- Variable graphics, and text printing
- One-offs, short run,s or production runs
- Corporate, promotional, and team shirts
- Special event shirts
- Prints on light & dark t-shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts
- Designed to print a range of sizes from infant-wear to the largest adult sizes
Modern DTG printers, such as the Epson F2000, utilize ink formulations that were developed specifically to print on cotton and cotton blends. Utilizing a sealed ink cartridge system, the printer can monitor ink levels, and replacing ink cartridges is a simple, no-mess process. CMYK inks also enable high quality prints covering a wide color gamut. Accurate and consistent color reproduction is made possible by the Garment Creator DTG printing software, included with the machine.
Advantages of Direct to Garment Printing with Epson F2000:
- Add an additional revenue stream to your business by accepting 1-off and lower volume t-shirt orders
- 65% average profit margin
- The machine and software are easy to learn and use
- Produce photo-quality prints on t-shirts and other items
- Maintenance is simple and inexpensive
- The F2000 has a small footprint and is very portable
The all-new F2000 direct to garment printer was created with a purpose—to deliver a machine that helps apparel decorators make money on short-run and one-off t-shirt orders

Printer, Ink and Pre-treatment
All Developed by EPSON for the Purpose of Printing Shirts
Every aspect of these printers, from the printer mechanism to the ink delivery system, was purpose-built to deliver industrial-level production speeds, image quality, and reliability to redefine direct to garment printing. MelcoUSA is a distributor of the SureColor F2000 White Edition. This printer is capable of printing both light and dark garments with quality your customers demand and speed that your bottom line will enjoy.
Efficient T-Shirt Production
Ink is always one of the main cost considerations when purchasing a DTG printer. But, as Epson Product Manager Larry Kaufman points out, "When it comes to ink costs, it's about more than just comparing cost per milliliter. It's the bottom-line efficiency of ink usage that really matters. Because the PrecisionCore TFP printhead, Epson UltraChrome DG Inks, and the color tables in Garment Creator software were developed together specifically for DTG printing," Kaufman explains, "the Epson SureColor F2000 series is highly efficient. It consistently delivers hour-over-hour of sellable production. Sellable equates to less waste—a few milliliters of ink, along with labor time and the cost of the garment itself," Kaufman continues. "By minimizing waste and reducing customer returns, your business is more efficient and profitable."
The Best Warranty in the Industry
The F2000 DTG Printer is backed by a standard one-year limited warranty, including free phone support and usually next-business-day on-site service. If Epson can't solve your problem over the phone, they'll send a technician to you. Everything is covered during the first year: labor and parts, including the printhead. Best of all, it won't cost you a dime.
Customer Testimonials
Wow I am extremely busy here at Midwest Threadwork Designs. I now do sublimation, vinyl, and rhinestones besides embroidery and dtg. I wish I had started this years ago cause I finally love what I'm doing!!! Thanks for everything, that email you sent me last December changed my life completely!!!
Jackie Bartoni
Owner, Midwest Threadwork Designs
I have always loved to sew, so the embroidery first started as an extension of sewing. In June of 2007, I purchased an Amaya XT from Melco and opened SugarPlum Stitching in the 2nd bedroom of our house. I advertised by word of mouth by friends and family, and a website.
Four years ago, I branched out to include digital printing. I purchased an Epson DTG printer from Melco in September of 2015 after owning an Anajet printer.
Carol Kelley
Owner, SugarPlum Stitching
Great warranty, Epson will come to us when we need help. Affordable price, great reviews online by other users, hardly any used ones for sale out there. We had an Anajet and had problems from day one. Look on ebay and craigslist you'll get a quick feeling of what is valued and what is not.

Key Features
Epson UltraChrome DG Ink
No other single component of a garment printer is more important than the ink. This is why Epson spent over three
years developing a garment ink technology exclusively for the SureColor F2000 series. Designed for durability,
along with outstanding color and White density performance over a wide range of cotton and cotton-polyester blends,
Epson UltraChrome DG Ink sets a new standard in professional-level garment ink technology.
Six High-Capacity Ink Cartridges
It’s all about productivity, which is why Epson developed high-capacity ink cartridges in both 250 ml and 600 ml capacities — providing up to 3600 ml of ink on board.
Amazing Color Performance
Epson UltraChrome DG Ink produces exceptionally vibrant colors, neutral grays, and sharp contours. Your printed garments are simply stunning — exactly what you’d expect from Epson.
Outstanding White Ink Density
Amazing color begins with proper White ink density. So, Epson developed an all-new natural shade of white for outstanding color and white-only garment imaging.
High Garment Durability
Independently tested by Philadelphia University using the AATCC standards, the SureColor F2000 received the highest possible rating of 51 — ensuring your garments will last.
Oeko-Tex Standard
Epson UltraChrome DG Ink, when applied to cellulose fabrics, has passed the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 specification for human and ecological requirements for class 1 products — which means, it’s safe.

technology to work seamlessly together. The result is quite possibly the most advanced garment imaging system
ever offered. Finally, a true direct-to-garment imaging technology designed for serious, reliable production, from
a company you can trust — Epson.
Small Footprint & Whisper-Quiet Operation
The entire printer is only 38.8" W x 56.1" D x 19.3" H, making it suitable for any sturdy table. And, with an operational noise level rating of about 42 dB, it’s extremely quiet.
User-Adjustable Platen Height
Providing faster and more consistent garment loading, the platen can be manually adjusted to accommodate just about any garment type and thickness.
Purpose-Built Printer Design
Unlike most direct-to-garment printer manufacturers, Epson started with a blank slate and designed a printer from the ground up specifically for garment imaging. This is the garment printer you’ve been waiting for.
Epson PrecisionCore TFP Printhead
Designed for the demanding requirements of garment imaging, our most advanced printhead technology allows for both high production print speeds along with outstanding everyday reliability.
Platen Gap Optimization
An LED beam automatically scans each garment prior to printing. By ensuring the garment was loaded properly, overall waste is significantly lowered, while increasing productivity.
Simple, Tool-Free Maintenance

An amazing garment printer requires amazing software — introducing Garment Creator by Epson. Available as a free download for both Apple OS X and Microsoft Windows, Garment Creator is a simple-to-use layout and printing solution for everyday garment production. Designed for anyone to use, Garment Creator makes it easy to import your artwork, knock out areas for transparency, control white imaging, correct and manage color, control your ink densities, and much more. And with a built-in Job Estimating Tool, Garment Creator can automatically tell you how much ink was consumed for every garment printed. Epson Garment Creator produces outstanding photographic-quality prints on both light and dark garment types. It’s the perfect everyday printing tool for virtually any garment printing workflow.

More Features
True Photographic Quality
Unlike traditional screen printing, direct-to-garment imaging can produce true photographic-quality garments. This opens up new possibilities as a T-shirt printer, while creating new revenue opportunities.
