A computer is used to control several different motors, giving you the ability to precisely move the needle bar, the tensioning discs, the feed dog, and other sewing machine parts. The computer controls all these little mechanisms so that it is possible to produce hundreds of various stitches. With the motor, the computer is able to control the right speed in order to move the needle bar up and down or from side to side in the particular stitch pattern you need. The sewer simply loads a pattern from the machine’s memory or creates an original one and the computer does almost everything else. The computer prompts the sewer to replace the thread or make any other adjustments when necessary.
