Row by Row Experience began in 2011 with 20 quilt shops across New York State. Today thousands of stores across the US, Canada and Europe welcome travelers through their doors. The quilts created with those rows are stunning… and no two are alike!
Although the quilt shops are organized by area, quilters have no borders. Travel, shop, collect patterns and add rows to your quilt from anywhere!
It's easy! Simply visit SewingMachinesPlus.com quilt shop during the summer and ask for their free pattern for a row in a quilt. The 2017 theme is Row by Row On the Go, and we will give you the pattern at no cost, limit one per person, walk-in customers only.
Yes! With the Row by Row Experience you win a prize for sewing! Complete a quilt using at least 8 different rows from 8 different 2017 participating shops. Be the first to bring it into a shop and you win a stash of 25 fat quarters. (That's 6-1/4 yards of fabric!) Win a bonus prize for using our row in your quilt.
You have from June 21 through September 5, 2017 to collect our free pattern. You have until October 31, 2017 to submit a quilt for a prize.
Summer 2017 will be alive with learning when kids hit the road to participate in Row by Row Experience’s brand new program, Row by Row Junior. It’s designed for kids ages 6 to 14. They travel along with an adult, collect free row patterns designed just for them to make, and learn to sew with family help.
Row by Row Junior follows the same time schedule, June 21 through Labor Day. It has the same basic guidelines for registered brick and mortar quilt shops. Like adult Row by Row, children need to be present in the shop to get the free pattern handout, but anyone can buy a kit. Grandmothers can buy them as Christmas presents. Travelling family members can bring them home as gifts or souvenirs.
Blue “I Made This!” ribbons will be awarded to the first five kids who return to a shop with something they’ve made using a Row by Row Junior pattern. We want to celebrate any sewing effort not just quilting.
The 9th Row follows the same time schedule, June 21 through Labor Day. Our store is proud to be participating in the 9th row project to help those in need. Purchase the 9th Row pattern kit and part of the proceeds will go to the Make a Wish Foundation or a local children’s charity in the San Diego area. Help us make a difference through our love and passion of quilting!
