SMP VIRTUAL HOOP FEST 2023

GENERAL INFORMATION

We are excited to offer a 5-day virtual festival of embroidery. Our hoop festival is a community offering in celebration of the artists and makers who practice this craft. We are hosting a contest with popular vote awards of first and second, and third placement prizes, as well as a Best of Show, Golden Scissors Award. Throughout the contest we will be having giveaways and picking a viewer every day to be eligible to win Hoop Fest 2023, $25,000—Dream Studio Giveaway*! *ARV

EMBROIDERY CONTESTS ( RULES + FAQ )

Anyone can enter!
Original embroidery designs, while encouraged, are not required. Contestants may submit embroidery work created from designs of digitized art purchased from vendors, and sewn uniquely by contestant.

All are welcome!

* Please submit pictures in the correct order.*

Picture Requirements:

1. Submit in this order

Full, straight-on view of your embroidery project
Detail of the embroidery front
OPTIONAL Contestant self expression; photograph your project any way you choose, (e.g., worn, displayed, framed).
OPTIONAL Contestant self expression

2. Picture Size: must be shot at high resolution + under 10 MB.

Terms and Conditions *be sure to check the box to accept terms and conditions, at the bottom of the form.

Images become the property of the show sponsor for publicity and/or publication.
Limit 2 entries, per person.
By signing-up you agree to be added to our newsletter.
Project must not have been submitted in a national level show.
Project must have been completed after Jan 1, 2023.
Prize winners will be notified Live on air Friday, June 16th and a follow up email sent on the following week.
Submission of project registration signifies agreement with these conditions.
Hoop Fest reserves the right to remove inappropriate entries for any reason.

2. What is Hoop Fest?

We will be live streaming our hoop embroidery festival celebration, for 5 days, for 7 ½ hours a day—after the open voting period closes!
Come back here or join us on Facebook or YouTube live, each day.
Our virtual event special guests will be showcasing embroidery notions and equipment as well as answering some of the most asked questions about hoop embroidery; such as which needle, stabilizer and hoops to use! We will also take a deep dive into placement, editing designs, digitizing, creating appliques, making patches, embroidering in the hoop, and much more! We will also discuss interesting embroidery use and making a business with embroidery.

3. What might I win?

The Peoples' choice (popular vote) first, second and third place winners will each win an embroidery winnings package! We will announce the Dream Studio Giveaway winner on the final day, along with other winners of the Hoop Fest competition prizes.

4. What is the Dream Studio and who can enter to win it?

We will be giving away a Dream Home Studio to one lucky viewer worth $25,000. Anyone who submits an email to follow the contest will be automatically entered.

5. How big should my pictures be?

Pictures must be shot at high resolution + under 10 MB

6. What is the process for entering?

All embroidery project entries require 3 photographic submissions and an embroidery statement.
