GO! Winding Ways-8" Finished Die

Cutting skinny then wide, curved sided pieces of the Winding Ways pattern is a trick. This GO! precision cutting die makes taking the winding way a breeze. It features matching notches on curved seams for easy pinning and quick sewing. Creates an 8" finished square.

How to Die Cut Winding Ways Quilt Blocks:

For best cutting results, position fabric on the lengthwise grain (straight of grain) as it goes under the roller. Cover the six shapes on the die with two layers of one fabric color and two layers of a contrasting fabric color to cut two, 2-color blocks in one pass thru the cutter.

• Shape A: Cut a 5" strip across the width of fabric. Fanfold into 5" widths. Place on selected blade and cut. Cut 8 Shape A's across the width of fabric. One yard of 40" wide fabric cuts 56 Shape A's.
• Shape B: Cut a 4" strip across the width of fabric. Fanfold into 4" widths. Place on selected blade and cut. Cut 10 Shape B's across the width of fabric. One yard of 40" wide fabric cuts 90 Shape B's.
• Shape C: Cut a 3 1/4" strip across the width of fabric. Fanfold into 5" widths. Place on selected blade and cut. Cut 8 Shape C's across the width of fabric. One yard of 40" wide fabric cuts 88 Shape C's.

Die Tips:

• With some fabrics, after cutting, a thread or two will remain where die blades meet. Snip threads with scissors.
• Blades on some dies are positioned at an angle. Align fabric to edge of shape, not edge of die board.
• Use good quality fabric to reduce fabric stretch.
• It's always a good idea to test cut one shape before cutting many shapes to ensure fabric orientation is correct.
