These 25 beautiful hand sketched floral designs were created using a raw edge applique technique. Raw edge applique does not have a satin stitch or decorative finish along the edges. The applique pieces are stitched down close to the edge using a running stitch that makes a few passes. The fabric is prepared with a fusible to hold it securely down. There will be a small amount of fraying. This is the nature of raw edge applique. These light, airy designs have a hand sketched look. You’ll notice the dark outlines do not line up. They’re not supposed to as this gives them a beautiful sketched look. With this versatile set, for the flowers and leaves you can use fabric (with a fusible applied) or heat transfer vinyl or cork as shown in some of my samples.
This set is compatible with Patch and Applique Maker Software (for correctly resizing the native c2s files) from DIME but it is not required to have to use the designs. Projects shown are inspirational ideas only. The instructions or files for creating these completed projects are not included.

An .exe file will need to be downloaded. If you are a MAC user, be aware of this. You will need to download the free MAC translator from DIME to be able to download the .exe and run it. To stitch all the included designs a 5Ă—7 hoop is required. C2S, DST, EXP, HUS, JEF, PES, VIP, VP3, XXX formats are available. This design set is a collaboration with Designs In Machine Embroidery.
