Cathy was born into a family of talented women, many of whom worked at the Lowell Textile Mills in New England. At the University of Maine, Cathy completed a Bachelors of Science, specializing in Clothing, Textiles and Design. Over the years, her love of sewing and quilting has evolved into her present role of Independent Consultant and Educator.
An award winning sales person for several of the industry’s leading manufacturers, Cathy’s work has been recognized and published. She enjoys teaching current and new owner classes for the full line of BERNINA sewing machines and related products. Cathy resides in San Antonio with her husband, Kevin. The couple have two children, Wes and Kate, and a son-in-law, Ryan, all graduates of Texas A&M University. Cathy is also a new grandmother.
We are very pleased and honored to have Aimee Pinell visit us during the event to help out by adding their expertise on the Bernina machines.
Seamstress, embroiderer, digitizer, graphics designer, cake decorator, wedding planner/coordinator, entrepreneur, certified optometrist’s assistant, caretaker…. Aimee has done it all! A lifelong resident of Jennings, LA, she entered the field of optometry right out of high school and spent 10 ½ years in the field. When her elderly grandparents began needing assistance in 2009, she made the decision to take on the role of caretaker for them, trading eye care for family care. A little over ten years ago, Aimee purchased her first embroidery machine and fell in love with the hobby from the start. She began her own small business, embroidering and monogramming for people. Her customers loved her work, and thus began her foray into the world of embroidery.
In 2014, Aimee began working as a part-time salesperson then quickly moved into a management position. In 2016, she found her passion for teaching classes. She traveled across Louisiana teaching “New owner” classes for Brother and BERNINA, Beginner Embroidery and Applique classes, BES lettering software, and PE-DESIGN software.
Additionally, Aimee has created her own embroidery app and is currently writing an embroidery eBook. The app is The Embroidery Guru. The app offers lots of great help and information at your fingertips. Find it in the App Store and on Google Play today! The eBook, How to Embroider Like a Guru will be available for download by July 2019. For the amateur or the seasoned embroiderer, Aimee’s app and eBook will help to make the experience “SEW” much easier!
