The Curvy 8770 features the new SwiftSmart digital threading method and a one-touch needle threader. You can spend less time threading and more time sewing! Explore your creativity from basic utility to fashion sewing, from crafts to home decor projects.

Before SwiftSmart you had to thread the spool, guide the thread down along the groove, U-turn back up, thread the take-up, then pull it back down again. Then you had to thread the needle eye. Now all you do is guide the thread from the spool to the needle using the groove on the front of the machine. The One touch Needle Threader will even pull the thread through the eye of the needle. No more complicated threading!

The Drop & Sew Bobbin System makes threading even easier. There is no longer a need to raise the bobbin thread. A specially designed thread track and new needle plate handle that task.

The new "curvy" shape has three StayBright LED lights for unmatched illumination. Stitch selection is push-button easy instead of turning a dial. Auto tension ensures stable stitch quality with every type of fabric.

Exclusive Buttonhole Underplate

The buttonhole underplate sandwiches fabric between a lower plate and the foot. This ensures perfect buttonholes on multiple layers of fabric. It's like a mini-embroidery hoop. The machine feeds the attachment instead of the fabric. Buttonholes are possible in places that conventional buttonhole devices cannot easily reach.

Exclusive 3-Step Infinite Length Bar-Tack Buttonhole

Center Zigzag Taper

When tapering with the zigzag stitch, the stitch tapers to the center, not the left or right. This provides a more attractive look when tapering into or out from a point.

Automatic Tacking Stitch Function

Push a button to tie-off decorative stitches. The start and end of the pattern is reinforced with four tiny tacking stitches. This ensures quality stitching and prevents raveling.

Automatic Tie-Off Function

With just a push of a button the machine will sew 4 stitches forward and then 4 stitches back at the start of Straight Stitching. At the end, press the reverse button again and the machine will sew 4 stitches in reverse and then 4 stitches forward and then stop. The Automatic Tie-Off Function reinforces the start and end of seams for stronger stitching.

Automatic Reverse

Push the conveniently located Automatic Reverse Button to sew in reverse and reinforce the stitch.

7mm Stitch Width

Most stitches can be set for a maximum width of 7mm. Wide stitches are bolder and more pronounced when sewing decorative stitches or satin stitches.

Electronic Twin Needle Control

Stitches are automatically adjusted for twin needle sewing with just the touch of a button. Twin needle sewing creates two parallel rows adding a decorative touch.

13 Needle Positions

The needle position can be changed for individual projects, such as inserting zippers or cording and topstitching.

Programmable Needle Up and Down

Select whether the needle is up or down when the machine stops. It is helpful to have the needle stop in the down position when appliqueing, quilting or pivoting fabric. When removing the fabric from the machine, it is easier if the needle is up.

20-Space Memory

A memory bank holds full names and simple phrases.

Thread Cutter

Located for precise thread cutting. Eliminates the need to cut thread with scissors.

3 StayBright LED Lights

Editing Features

Editing is simple. A cursor button can be moved through the 20-space memory. If a stitch or letter needs to be removed, use the editing button.

Mirror Image

Just touch a button and stitches can be mirror imaged. (Only on specific stitches.)

Continuous Pattern

Just touch a button and stitches can be sewn continuously or as a single pattern. (Only on specific stitches.)

Error Messaging

Four audible and visual warning messages alert the sewer. The messages make for trouble-free sewing.

Pattern Override Memory

The Curvy 8770 retains the width and/or length override setting. The machine remembers, so you don't have to! Select a pattern, override the width and/or length, and the machine will remember those changes. Select a different pattern and then return to the overridden pattern. The override settings will still be in place.

Sewing Speed

Projects can be sewn quickly at a maximum sewing speed of 750 stitches per minute.

Automatic Tension

Auto tension ensures stable stitch quality, whatever type of fabric is being used.

Automatic Presser Foot Pressure Control

The pressure exerted on the fabric by the presser foot is automatic. Sew the lightest weight tricots to the heaviest denim without making presser foot adjustments.

Extra-High Presser Foot Lifter

There are 2 heights to the presser foot lifter. The second height offers more clearance. This is needed when placing multiple layers of bulky fabric under the presser foot.

Top Loading Jam-Proof Bobbin System with clear cover

This system has a magnet-type vertical axis rotating hook. This ensures smooth and quiet, thread jam-resistant sewing. The bobbin case floats above the hook to prevent thread jams. It is easy to insert the top-loading bobbin. The clear cover makes it easy to check the bobbin thread supply.

Automatic Bobbin Winding Clutch

The needle bar automatically disengages when winding the bobbin, making bobbin winding safer.

6-Segment Feeding System

This specially designed feed dog ensures the fabric is picked up and supported from the front of the presser foot to the rear. This makes feeding much more accurate.

Box Feed

The feed dogs move in a box motion instead of an arc. Box motion assures perfect feeding throughout the entire feed process. The feed dogs are always in perfect and equal contact with the fabric and presser foot.

Drop Feed Dogs

A conveniently located lever lowers the feed dogs for free-motion embroidery, monograms, and for attaching buttons.
