How to Die Cut 8" Finished Setting Triangles:

For best cutting results, position fabric on the lengthwise grain (straight of grain) as it goes under the roller.

  • Side Triangles: Cut 7" x length of fabric (LOF) strip along the selvage edge. Layer up to 6 layers of fabric. Use the Cut & Shift method. Start at one end of fabric by placing fabric right side up over the side triangle shapes. Place die through the cutter. Continue to cut and shift the fabric strip to align the cut angle of fabric with the angle of blades to cut the next triangle across the LOF. Continue to cut each triangle by shifting the fabric. Cut 4 side triangles across the width of 40" of fabric. One yard of 40" wide fabric-cuts 20 side triangles.
  • Corner Triangles: Cut a 6-3/4" strip across the width of fabric. Fanfold into 6-3/4" widths. Place on selected blade and cut. Cut 5 corner triangles across the width of fabric. One yard of 40" wide fabric-cuts 25 corner triangles.

Dimensions:

  • Cut Size: Side Triangle: 12"W x 6 1/4"H Cut (30.5 cm x 15.9 cm), Corner Triangle: 6 1/4"W x 6 1/4"H Cut (15.9 cm x 15.9 cm)
  • Finished Size: Side Triangle: 11 1/2"W x 5 3/4"H Finished (29.2 cm x 14.6 cm), Corner Triangle: 5 3/4"W x 5 3/4"H Finished (14.6 cm x 14.6 cm)
  • Die Board Size: 10 in. x 24 in. (25.4 cm x 61 cm)

  • Free pattern downloads available to get you started.
  • Fat Quarter-friendly

AccuQuilt Benefits:

  • Cut so much more fabric in less time.
  • Get accurate cuts every time -- No slipping rulers or mistakes
  • Easiest to use -- Simply place die on cutter, then fabric and cutting mat on top
  • Save fabric with Two Tone Foam -- Get more out of your fabric by placing it only over the shape you want to cut.
  • Safe to use -- No blades come anywhere near your fingers

Die Tips:

  • With some fabrics, after cutting, a thread or two will remain where die blades meet. Snip threads with scissors.
  • Blades on some dies are positioned at an angle. Align fabric to edge of shape, not edge of die board.
  • Use good quality fabric to reduce fabric stretch.
  • It's always a good idea to test cut one shape before cutting many shapes to ensure fabric orientation is correct.
